Sarnath is a village located in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the holiest Buddhist places (the others are Kushinagar and Bodhgaya in India and Lumbini in Nepal)

Varanasi and Sarnath both are very important cities of India. Not only these cities kept alive the oldest tradition and religion but they are also important because of the Ashoka symbol which is a national symbol for India.
