The Carnival of Olinda is famous worldwide, but perhaps not as much as Rio de Janeiro. I arrived a week before not knowing what to expect: lots of people in the streets dressing fancy dress and having fun. A week before there is much movement and people live it intensely! Carrying our backpack and trying to find our way among the people in those narrow streets running up and down. With the help of our always present Lonely Planet we found an inn where we were informed that there was a room for that week but when Carnival comes we have to leave. We threw the bags on the floor and quickly joined the party at the streets wearing our respective "masks" for not being less than others :)
Here there are some images of what we saw that day.
The party lasted all day and in the night too.
If we go to Olinda Carnival worth arriving a week earlier!
Thank you very much to all persons appearing in these photos and helping to make the carnival a party so fun and colorful :)
