Conociendo el Golfo de Bengala- Meeting the Bay of Bengal

El Golfo de Bengala ha sido testigo de actividades humanas tan míticas como el comercio marítimo en tiempos de la Ruta de la Seda y la piratería. Sus aguas nos traen rumores de leyendas con aroma a incienso y especias. La seda y otros textiles fueron los productos protagonistas por muchos siglo haciendo prosperar los pueblos de sus costas. Aún hoy la India lucha por erradicar a los piratas modernos de sus aguas, armados hasta los dientes, por lo general de origen africano.
The Bay of Bengal has witnessed human activities as mythical as the shipping trade in times of the Silk Road and piracy. Its waters bring us legends rumors scented with incense and spices. Silk and other textile products were protagonists thrive for many century by the people of their coasts.India still struggle to eradicate modern pirates of its waters, armed to the teeth, usually of African origin. 

Un lugar muy interesante para encontrarse por primera vez con este mar asiático es en Puri, un célebre centro de peregrinación para los hindúes en el estado de Orissa. Puri es una de las ciudades más antiguas de la parte este de la India con hermosas playas y paisajes que no pierden para nada su exotismo :)
An interesting place to meet for the first time this Asian sea is in Puri, a famous pilgrimage center for Hindus in the state of Orissa. Puri is one of the oldest cities in the eastern part of India with beautiful beaches and landscapes that do not lose at all its exoticism :)

Como en toda la India, los locales disfrutan de los baños de mar completamente vestidos. Así que personalmente considero que lo mejor es imitarlos :)
As in all India, the locals enjoy sea bathing fully clothed. So personally I think that is better to imitate them :)

En Puri se pueden encontrar gran cantidad de templos sagrados y monasterios. Los hindúes ven a esta ciudad como un lugar sagrado para morir o ser cremados así que muchas peregrinaciones terminan aquí. Se dice que por esta razón la ciudad tiene un número desproporcionado de viudas.
In Puri we can find lots of sacred temples and monasteries. Hindus come to this sacred city to die or be cremated so many pilgrimages end here. It is said that for this reason the city has a disproportionate number of widows.
