Desfile del 14 de julio en París//14 July Parade in Paris

Cada año, el 14 de julio, se festeja la Toma de la Bastilla en Francia (hacer click aquí). Francia no tiene un "Día de la Independencia" al no haber sido ocupada por otras naciones en el pasado así que festejan el punto inicial de la Revolución Francesa como fiesta nacional. Los festejos parisinos son mundialmente conocidos con el desfile militar en los Campos Eliseos y los fuegos artificiales en la Torre Eiffel.
El desfile militar comienza cada año por la mañana sobre la avenida Champs Elysées (Campos Eliseos), principal avenida de París, iniciándose desde el Arco de Triunfo y culminando al final de la avenida en la Plaza de la Concordia. Mucha gente va a ver este desfile y se ponen vallas por todos lados así que hay que elegir donde nos vamos a posicionar ya que probablemente no nos podremos cambiar de lugar más tarde. Una de las opciones es ubicarse al inicio del desfile para tener el Arco de Triunfo como fondo.

Every year on July 14th, it is celebrated in France the Storming of the Bastille (click here) . France has not "Independence Day" because it was not occupied by other nations in the past so they celebrate the start point of the French Revolution as the national holiday. The festivities are world renowned with the military parade on the Champs Elysees and the fireworks at the Eiffel Tower. 
Military parade starts each year in the morning on the Champs Elysees, the main avenue in Paris, starting from the Arc of the Triomphe and culminating at the end of the avenue in the Place de la Concorde. Many people go to see this show and they put fences everywhere so you have to choose from where you will see the parade and probably you will not be able to relocate later. One option is to be at the beginning of the parade for having the Arc of the Triomphe in the background. 

En París se come bajo el sol// Eatting under the sun in Paris

En París los restaurantes tienen las mesas en las veredas y muchas veces al sol, lo que parece gustarle mucho a los parisinos. ¡La mayoría come bajo el sol y sin sombrero! Supongo que comer con sombrero es de mala educación, pero tuve que hacer caso omiso a la buena educación ya que se me hace imposible comer y broncearme a la vez en plena ciudad y vestida! :D
In Paris the restaurants have tables on the sidewalks and often under the sun, which seems to be  very nice to Parisians. Most of them eat under the sun without  wearing a hat! I guess eating with a hat is impolite, but I had to ignore good manners because I find it impossible to eat and tan myself  both in the city and dressed! : D 

Visitando el Palacio de Verano en Pekín// Visiting the Summer Palace in Beijing

El Palacio de Verano es una de las visitas imprescindibles cuando se va a Pekín. Se encuentra a unos 12 km al noroeste del centro de la ciudad pero se puede acceder en transporte público.
The Summer Palace is a must visit when you go to Beijing. It is located about 12 km northwest of the city center but is accessible by public transport. 

Es importante hacerse de un pequeño mapa ya que se trata de un recinto repleto de templos, palacios, jardines, pabellones y lagos.
It is important to get a small map because it is a place full of temples, palaces, gardens, pavilions and lakes.

Antiguamente fue el lugar de veraneo para la corte imperial. En los pabellones podemos ver pinturas muy interesantes en los techos, paredes y corredores.
In the past it was the summer resort for the imperial court. In the pavilions we can see very interesting paintings on the ceilings, walls and corridors. 

Dentro de la finca hay restaurantes (bastante caro el único que estaba abierto cuando yo fui) y pequeños puestos de comida.
Inside there are restaurants (quite expensive the only one was open when I went) and small food stalls. 

La entrada se puede comprar simple o con audio-guía y está abierto hasta las cinco de la tarde.
Una de sus atracciones es el gran barco completamente hecho de mármol, capricho de la emperatriz Cixi a finales del siglo XIX.
The ticket entry can be plain or with audio guide and is open until five pm. 
One of its attractions is the large boat completely made of marble, whim of Empress Cixi in the late nineteenth century. 

Como todo lo que visité en Beijing, está muy limpio y siempre se ve al señor de la limpieza trabajando  con su uniforme (los guantes es porque hacía frío)
Like everything I visited in Beijing, is very clean and always we can see the cleaning guy working in his uniform (the gloves is because it was cold) 

Si se va en temporada alta nos encontraremos con muchos turistas.
If you go in high season you will find many tourists. 

¡Pero eso no estropea el paisaje!
But the scenery is not spoiled by that!
